GP services survey report
A report capturing the findings of our survey into South Gloucestershire's GP services carried out during 2017-18
Summary
We completed a snapshot survey of GP practices across South Gloucestershire. Our findings show a range of different patient experiences across the county. The main headlines were:
- Most respondents accessed their GP by car or foot
- Waiting times were an issue across the county
- Mixed reviews of appointment systems - some good and some poor
- Confusion reported by patients about 'urgent' and 'non-urgent' appointments
- Waiting times for GP services were good but other appointments were reported as poor
Healthwatch will raise the issues highlighted by this survey with Patient Participation Groups, Health and Wellbeing Boards and the Health Scrutiny Committee
